The National Institute of Education (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) invite suitable applications for the position Part-time Student Assistant on a temporary contract for ~20 hours per week for 12-24 months at the Office of Education Research.
Project Title: NeuroEducation Program for Parents
Project Information: NeuroEducation Program for Parents is an arm of a larger research program titled LOVING (Learning about Our behavior is Valuable for Increasing Nurturing relationships and healthy Growth), which goal is to examine the impact of improving caregiver sensitivity. NeuroEducation Program for Parents focuses on educating parents about relations between brain development in early life and cognitive performance and behavior across the lifespan. NeuroEducation will comprise a core education package based on neuropsychology and inquiry-based pedagogy. Sessions will include lectures, labs based on active learning, and readings customized to caregivers.
Requirements

Academic qualification:
Completed undergraduate degree or ongoing or completed graduate degree in Education and/or Psychology and/or Neuroscience or similar areas
‐
Work experience:
o
Prior experience conducting systematic
literature reviews
o
Prior experience designing and developing
learning materials
o
Prior experience teaching at any educational
level
o
Prior experience designing and administering
instruments to evaluate learning goals
o
Prior experience designing interview protocols
o
Prior experience conducting quantitative and qualitative
analysis
o Prior experience disseminating research findings targeting the general public and academic audiences

Responsibilities

To conduct systematic literature reviews (summarizing,
coding, and organizing relevant literature).
‐
To design and develop learning materials for
the program including topics such as general characteristics of the nervous
system and core aspects of brain development and brain anatomy.
‐
To support the delivery of the program.
‐
To design and administer instruments to
evaluate the program learning goals by assessing pre-and post- knowledge
concerning brain and cognitive development, for example.
‐
To design semi-structured interview protocols and
conduct qualitative analysis (summarizing, coding, and organizing relevant
literature).
‐
To compute different statistical analyses for
the findings obtained in the systematic literature reviews and semi-structured interviews.
‐
To contribute to research translation and
dissemination of findings targeting the general public and academic audiences.
‐
To perform other tasks as required by the
Principal Investigators.
Target contract start and end date – Sept 2023 – Sept 2024
Time Type – ~20 hours per week for 12-24 months total, flexible schedule
